Artists statement: I relate strongly to Glen Murcutt's motto ; "Touch the earth lightly ". With these words as a starting point I try to make works that are beautiful, interesting and different. I like to use Australian landforms, flora and fauna, traces of human habitation [ Ancient and modern ], some political and social commentary and see where it leads. More recently I have become interested in setting up rhythms and harmonies within the work using collaged pieces of Australian prose and poetry along with copies of my own drawings enlarged or altered with a photocopier. The asymmetry is a conscious attempt to get away from the traditional square and rectangle format.
