Marlene Kingdon

Marlene Kingdon has taught art for many years and has an Associate Degree Fine Arts from the Adelaide Central School of Art. Artist's Statement: My figurative and landscape practice is driven by exploration as a way of investigating subject matter. I like the surprise that comes from using mixed media such as oil,acrylic,plastic and textiles in my work and in varying the scale. All my non representational paintings explore colour brightness and exploit the fact that colours of equal intensity give different spatial readings. There's a push/pull effect with cool colours which normally recede appearing to come forward. And vice versa which enlivens the viewer experience.
