Doug Wright‘s painting ‘Garden’ is a two-panel work (diptych) in oil and wax oil sticks on linen. A response to his having worked in large gardens in the Central Highlands, Victoria. The work is composed with a central white track related to meandering around the garden. Flower beds of varying colours, a burst of pink meadow flowers and tilled earth, and the iconic gardener’s gumboot (on the left).
This beautiful artwork is now delighting diners at an upmarket Melbourne restaurant, along with paintings by other artists including Peter Griffen and Marise Maas.
